Brandon Reed (Sound Designer)

Brandon Reed is ecstatic to be working with Windy City Playhouse for the first time. Favorite and recent Chicago credits includes: HAYMARKET (Underscore Theatre Company); A SMALL OAK TREE RUNS RED (Jeff Nomination) and JITNEY (Congo Square Theatre Company); IN THE TIME OF THE BUTTERFLIES (Teatro Vista); ADDING MACHINE: A MUSICAL (The Hypocrites); BRAVE LIKE THEM and AD HOC HOME (About Face Youth Theatre); IN THE NEXT ROOM OR THE VIBRATOR PLAY, TWELFTH, and A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM (Illinois Theatre). Regional credits include FULL COMMITTED, MONTGOMERY (Premiere) and SILENT SKY (Bristol Valley Theatre, NY); JULIUS CAESAR, THE MUSIC MAN, LOVE’S LABOUR’S LOST (Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre); and SEX WITH STRANGERS (Cardinal Stage Company, IN). He is a member of the Theatrical Sound Designers and Composers Association (TSDCA). He acquired his Bachelors from Ball State University. Brandon is also an alumnus of the Professional Leadership Program at Steppenwolf Theatre Company where he served as the apprentice for the 2014-2015 season. He will be graduating with his M.F.A. in Sound Design & Technology from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign this coming May before relocating back to Chicago. His thesis will be a world premiere collaboration with Tectonic Theatre (THE LARAMIE PROJECT) in a devised piece titled BECAUSE I AM YOUR QUEEN a feminist fantasia about theatre’s greatest female characters this coming March.You can keep up with him and his work at
