Brandon Wardell (Lighting Designer)

Brandon Wardell is a Lighting and Scenic Designer based in Chicago. He is an Artistic Associate of Steep Theatre Co. and Adventure Stage Chicago. This is Brandon’s first design at Windy City Playhouse, and he is very happy to be working with Scott again after their acclaimed productions of MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, BAT BOY THE MUSICAL, and TITANIC. Recent projects include award-winning productions of LONDON WALL and MEN SHOULD WEEP (Griffin); the Chicago Voices project (Lyric Unlimited); THE GAME OF LOVE AND CHANCE (American Players); LELA & CO, EARTHQUAKES IN LONDON, WASTWATER, BRILLIANT ADVENTURES, and THE CHEATS (Steep); HEATHERS THE MUSICAL and ASSASSINS (Kokandy); YANKEE TAVERN (ABT); BAD JEWS (Wit); SPARK and SIX STORIES TALL (ASC); and REPRISE (ASC/Nat. Theatre of Scotland). In October he will also design THE VIBRATOR PLAY with Timeline Theatre Co. He has designed for numerous theatre companies in Chicago and beyond, including American Players Theatre, Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival, Lifeline Theatre Company, TUTA, Danszloop Chicago, The Edinburgh Fringe, The Provincetown Tennessee Williams Festival, Theatre Seven, Wildclaw, and Backstage Theatre Co. Brandon earned his MFA from Northwestern University and is the Professor of Lighting Design at Northern Illinois University.
