Seeking: House Managers

Join Windy City Playhouse in creating one-of-a-kind audience experiences!

We are currently seeking part-time, evening and weekend house managers, to support Audience Services activities at both our flagship in Albany Park and our satellite venue in the South Loop.


Across the two venues, house managers will be asked to prepare physical tickets and manage will-call; answer patron questions to help plan their visit; fulfill the Playhouse’s commitment to accessibility by working to find creative solutions to patron needs; serve as a Playhouse representative when greeting subscribers, donors, Board members, and other VIP; ensure audience base is respecting “house rules” (particularly in immersive environments) and gently correct where needed; submit daily reports about front of house activities to Playhouse leadership; complete daily reconciliation reports for concessions and box office transactions; help make the Playhouse a warm, welcoming environment to all.

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Past customer service experience (theater preferred, but open to individuals with service, retail, or hospitality backgrounds)
  • Genuine lover of theater and its patronage
  • Excellent people skills
  • ”Go with the flow” attitude
  • Ability to follow established policies & procedures
  • Great sense of humor
  • Bartending knowledge a plus

Schedule & Compensation

House managers will work 2-4 shifts per week across the two venues. Each shift is 5 hours, and vary between afternoon and evening times.

$100 / shift. House managers will be engaged as W-2 employees.
